GOOD QUESTIONS

A few things
you might wonder.

Simple tools deserve clear answers.

Read the quick guide
Is ImageUnbox really free?

Yes. All tools in this version are free to use, with no account, subscription or watermark. For a stable experience, each batch accepts up to 30 images, 50 MB per file and 200 MB in total.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Your image files and generated previews are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. The website downloads its own code and image decoders to your device. This version does not include advertising or third-party analytics.

Which image formats can I convert?

ImageUnbox accepts common static HEIC/HEIF, WebP, AVIF, JPG/JPEG, PNG and BMP files, and exports JPG or PNG. Some advanced codec variants may not decode on every device. GIF, RAW, PSD and TIFF are not supported in this version. Animated or multi-image inputs require a confirmation before a static frame or main image is exported.

Can you make every image smaller than 200 KB?

You can set a target file size, and ImageUnbox will try to meet it. Detailed images may need lower JPG quality or smaller dimensions. PNG is lossless, so a fixed-size PNG may remain above the target. The result always shows its actual size and whether the target was met.

Will conversion keep the original quality and metadata?

JPG export uses lossy compression. PNG avoids an additional lossy encoding step, but cannot restore detail already lost in the source. Exports are rendered images: camera metadata, HDR information, extra frames and editing data are not preserved. Always keep your originals.

Does it work on a phone?

The interface adapts to phones, tablets and computers. Conversion speed depends on your browser, image dimensions and available memory. If a large batch fails on a phone, try fewer images at a time or use a desktop browser.
