Three small steps. You’re all set.
- 01
Add your PNG
Choose a photo, screenshot or graphic. Notice whether it includes transparent areas.
- 02
Set background and quality
Transparency becomes a solid background. For text screenshots, start with high quality and inspect fine lines.
- 03
Check your JPG
Review text edges, background and size. Detected APNG needs confirmation before still output.
Inspect photos and screenshots differently
For photos, compare file size with visible detail. For screenshots, inspect small text and thin lines. If edges become unclear, PNG may remain the better choice.
The background becomes part of the image
JPG merges transparent areas with a background. Converting back to PNG will not automatically recover transparency, so keep your transparent original.
Local reading and export
Selected images are processed in this browser, on your device. Files are not uploaded to a conversion server. This version has no remote analytics.
Will PNG to JPG make my photo smaller?
It may, but not every image becomes smaller. Photos, icons and screenshots behave differently. Compare the actual size.
Why are text edges blurry?
JPG encoding may affect fine text and lines. Try higher quality, avoid excessive downscaling or keep PNG.
Can transparent parts stay transparent?
No. JPG cannot store transparency. Keep PNG when transparent areas are required.
What happens to animated PNG?
Detected APNG requires confirmation and produces one still JPG. It does not preserve playback or export every frame.
