Three small steps. You’re all set.
- 01
Choose an AVIF
Add a local file. Reading it depends on its encoding and this browser’s support.
- 02
Keep PNG selected
PNG is the default. Reduce dimensions if the image is destined for a smaller space.
- 03
Review transparent edges
Check transparency, color and actual size before downloading the PNG.
A PNG for your next layout
PNG suits images placed over other backgrounds. It does not remove a background; it can preserve transparency readable in the source.
Not every AVIF feature survives
A PNG extension does not mean all original color data survives. Browser rendering, output bit depth and resizing can change the result.
Still-frame output
When animated WebP, APNG or AVIF is detected, you must confirm before a single still frame is exported. Animation is not preserved. GIF is not supported.
Will an animated AVIF remain animated?
No. Detected animation requires confirmation before a still PNG is exported.
Does this page target a fixed file size?
No size target is enabled by default. Adjust dimensions or visit compression if you need to manage output size.
Does PNG recover missing detail?
No. The result uses the decoded and rendered image. It cannot recover information missing from the source.
Will an unreadable AVIF be uploaded instead?
No. Files are processed in the browser. A failure is reported without uploading the image.
